Another mini-clinic was completed on Sunday in a private home in La Tolva, between centro Manzanillo and Colomos, where we did 3 cats and 12 dogs. That brings us up to almost 500 animals this year!

Hello to all from Northern California. It's been very warm but a big change is coming -so I hear.

If anyone up North thinks they can get donated supplies from their local Vet or hospital please e-mail me @ rusty-julie@hotmail.com and we will gladly carry it back to La Manz in October. We always need suture, needles, syringes and surgical sterile gloves. I can send a list of specific sizes, etc. if you e-mail me.
My doctor recommended that I get a tetanus booster. I think it would be a great idea if all of you that volunteer at the clinic get one . You can probably get it at the Central Salud for very few pesos when you get down there. You never know what might happen when you deal with cages, dog, cats and everything else at the clinic.

The clinic dates have been set. November 20th-24th and March 20th -24th----pretty tricky -easy to remember!

On Sunday, the 26th of July, Pata Volunteers completed another 14 animals this time in Valle de Las Garzas, Barrio 1. The next clinic is on 16 August in Jalipa. Thanks to all that participated & particularly the neighbors for the lunch, mmmmm. Another great effort by PATA volunteers in the neighborhood of Marymar on Sunday logged 14 animals -- just 2 cats in the bunch of large dogs! We have a series of mini clinics programmed through until September and have come up with a semi-formal sponsorship package to allow other community groups and individuals to help finance these important campaigns. A very successful El Naranjo clinic on Sunday. 29 more animals and it was the first and hopefully not the last joint ARA/PATA clinic. PATA has the resources and ARA provided the funding for supplies. Thank you to all that participated!

I heard a horrible comment today. Someone described an animal in need to me as a xxxxx organization animal. Neither of the Manzanillo organizations own animals. There are animals in need and those that aren't, period. The animals don't wear nametags stating they belong to one organization or another! It is only the humans that make this distinction.

Thanks to all who helped make our 4th annual spay/neuter clinic a HUGE success with 281 animals receiving operations in a safe and organized manner! We're now at more than 1,300 dogs and cats done in 4 years..... way to go Manzanillo!
